The American Society of Hematology (ASH) offers multiple funding and training opportunities for hematology fellows, junior faculty, and senior research faculty at various career stages. These $500 merit-based awards (formerly Travel Awards) are provided to trainees with high-scoring annual meeting abstracts of which they are the first or senior author and presenter.

Minority Recruitment Initiative
An initiative to increase the participation of underrepresented minorities training in hematology-related fields, the ASH Minority Recruitment Initiative (MRI) was created in 2003 to increase the participation of underrepresented minorities training in hematology-related fields and to increase the number of minority hematologists with academic and research appointments. Programs include:
