Meetings Coordinator
ASH seeks a dynamic, experienced, detail-oriented Meetings Coordinator to work in its Meetings Department. The Meetings Coordinator will work closely with the Meetings Manager to plan and ensure the success of the Society’s annual meeting and in-house/small meetings.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least two years experience independently planning and coordinating logistics for association meetings. The position requires demonstrated strengths in organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to interact and communicate effectively with staff, members/non-members, and meeting attendees and vendors; ability to efficiently manage time, meet schedules/deadlines, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously; exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; and proficiency with computers and learning new software. The ability to work under pressure, to keep confidentiality, to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times, and flexibility with schedule and willingness to work overtime during the heavy conference season in order to meet deadlines are also required.

Education Assistant
ASH seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Education Assistant to work in its Education Department. The Education Assistant will assist with day-to-day administrative tasks related to the Society’s education portfolio consisting of the annual meeting, several small meetings, a number of educational publications, and committee support.
This job is perfect for someone eager to gain substantive business administration experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment focused on a good cause. The ideal candidate is one who thrives on keeping busy with a variety of projects in a creative environment. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Development and Awards Coordinator
ASH seeks an experienced Development and Awards Coordinator to provide principal support to the Director of Development and assist the department staff in all phases of development and awards activities for the Society, including but not limited to individual giving, corporate and foundation relations, honorific awards, the ASH Scholar Awards, minority recruitment initiatives, and committee support. Occasional attendance at and/or support of ASH-sponsored meetings and events outside of normal working hours (evenings and/or weekends) will be required.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of administrative experience in a business setting, ideally supporting multiple individuals in a deadline-driven environment. Detail and customer service orientation with excellent organizational and oral and written communications skills; strong ability to multi-task; and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), databases, and Internet required. Nonprofit association background preferred.

Education Meetings Specialist
ASH seeks an experienced, detail-oriented, and results-driven Education Meetings Specialist to serve as project manager in all aspects of the development and delivery of ASH’s small continuing medical education (CME) programs (such as the State-of-the-Art Symposia, Highlights of ASH, and programs on consultative hematology) both domestically and internationally. This position assists the Senior Manager of Education and Training with tasks associated with development of the annual meeting program and with maintaining ASH’s compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) criteria. The Education Meetings Specialist also provides governance and administrative support to related committees and subcommittees.
Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in association meeting planning, preferably for CME programs. Familiarity with ACCME criteria for the development and delivery of CME programs is strongly desired. Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and Internet required. Experience with association management systems (especially TIMSS) is highly desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks in an active work environment, and detail-orientation with excellent organizational and follow-through skills are essential. Strong interpersonal skills, including professionalism and ability to work well with ASH staff and ASH leadership, strong member-service orientation, and foreign language skills (particularly Spanish) are highly desirable. Domestic and international travel and flexibility during meeting periods will be required.

Senior Manager, Publications Marketing
ASH seeks a highly experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Manager, Publications Marketing to develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for journals and online publications, achieve revenue goals, drive traffic to journal and publication websites, and manage subscription fulfillment and subsidiary rights licensing. This position supports various areas of publications management, with a special focus on publications and journal marketing, subscription pricing models, and subsidiary rights management. The position is collaborative—requiring the ability to work effectively with other departments to meet organizational and departmental goals. This position supervises two full-time employees.
Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or other related field (advanced degree preferred); a minimum of seven years of related experience, specifically in the marketing side of publishing (journal subscription sales, content rights management); and a minimum of three years of supervisory experience, including developing, motivating, and evaluating the performance of staff. Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively with association leadership and senior management, and work constructively with vendors, customers, and staff in other departments is critical. The successful candidate will also have a proven ability to design, implement, and measure marketing strategies. In addition, the candidate must have knowledge of HighWire system report features, various Internet statistical report tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and data available from ISI and other vendors, CRM databases (specifically TIMSS), online advertising tracking programs (e.g., Google Ad Manager), and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. A high level of organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines, effective negotiation skills, and excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential. Occasional travel will be required.
