Vendor for the Medicare Competitive Acquisition Program (CAP) Announced
April 25, 2006 – Medicare announced that BioScrip Inc. will be the vendor
for the initial phase of the Medicare Competitive Acquisition Program (CAP).
Participating physicians will obtain drugs through the CAP vendor. The vendor
will bill Medicare for the administered drug, and will also bill the beneficiary
for any applicable copay or deductible amount. The physician election period
will open later this spring. The CAP is expected to be implemented July 1.
